Surgery
First Drink
4:45am – It’s been over 24 hours since Ella Grace has had any liquids because of her lungs. She just got a drink of apple juice mixed with water. She wants to drink really bad. Hopefully this drink will help her relax and get more sleep.
Day 2 Recap
9:55pm – I want to start this by asking all to pray specifically for Ella Grace’s lungs. She has a slight case of pneumonia and a lot of fluid on her lungs. We have a respiratory therapist who is starting percussive treatments but still we need God to intervene and make her better faster so…
In PCCU
4:55 – We’re with Ella in the Pediatric Critical Care unit. Everything is going well. The incision looks great and is about 4″ long. It is held together with glue and not stitches, which makes it look really nice. Dr. Christian just checked in and was very happy with Ella. I’ll try to get on…
Seeing Ella Grace
Just got back from seeing her and she looks wonderful. Please pray they will find the right dosage to keep her comfortable.
Thank God
1:20 – Dr. Christian delivered the great news that all is well. We’ll see here in about 1 hour… Can’t wait!
Out of Surgery
We now know that Ella Grace is out of surgery. Everything went well and we are waiting to meet with Dr. Christian. Thank God!
Warming Up
11:40 – Ella Grace is now being warmed up and coming off by-pass pumps. We are waiting for the cardiologist to give the final OK…
Dr. Christian Working
Just got the phone call letting us know that Ella is on full heart and lung bypass and Dr. Christian is working on her. Everything is going well, our spirits are up. It’s been great to have everyone here with us. Keep praying… We will post in another hour or so.
Two Updates
We just got off the phone with a nurse in the OR with her second update. At this point Ella is incubated and all lines have been run. She is doing well and they are starting the EKG to get final images before they start… Things are going smoothly and faster than anticipated.
